Acts 16:30 “…What Must I Do To Be Saved?”

The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas this question. They did not turn the jailer away, but told him how he could be saved.

If you are struggling with this question please look at what the scripture says.

1. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

We are all sinners, so in and of ourselves we are not fit for Heaven. We must realize we are lost first before we can be saved.

2. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

This scripture tells the horrible reality of sin, but also the remedy.

3. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus became our sacrifice. He tasted death for us and paid our penalty for sin.

4. Romans 10:9-10 and 13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Salvation is completely by faith in what Jesus did, not our own good works.

5. John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”

You become one of His own!

6. John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

No matter what you have done in the past, Jesus died and rose again to take away your sin.

7. John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

Once saved, you are His forever.

8. John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.”

Since Jesus paid the price for your sin and you did nothing but believe by faith, there is nothing you can do to lose eternal salvation.

9. John 20:31 “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”

Salvation is easy as ABC:

A-acknowledge you are a sinner

B-believe Jesus died for your sins, rose from the dead, and ascended into Heaven.

C-Confess your sins to Him and then tell everyone the good news!

If after studying these scriptures you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we would love to hear from you so we can rejoice with you and pray for you.
