Here is some outlines that we hope will be a blessing and a help to someone.

RECLAIMING OUR GROUND!

1 Samuel 14: 1-14 (Key verse 14)

 

Intro: Notice three things about our text.

 

     1.  We see the Soldiers - "the child of God"

     2.  We see the Adversary - "Satan and the world"

     3.  We see the Victory - "In Christ" - V. 14

 

* Today as Christians there is some areas of our life, or you could say some ground we need to reclaim.

 

      >  Our prayer ground

      >  Our praising ground

      >  Our planting ground

      >  Our pure ground

 

* Notice in our verses we can see how Jonathan and his armourbearer claimed their ground.

 

I. WE MUST FIRST HAVE A DESIRE! Vs. 1-5

     a.  The awareness of the need.

     b.  The action that is necessary.

 

II.  WE MUST FOLLOW DIVINE DIRECTIONS! Vs. 6-12

     a.  It will bring a divine plan - Vs. 8-10

     b.  It will bring a divine provision - V. 7 "Help"

     c.  It will bring a divine power - Vs. 13-14

 

III.WE MUST FIGHT WITH A FIGHT OF DERMATION!Vs.13-14

    a.  Fighting wholeheartedly.

    b.  Fighting to win.

 

*  Notice (verse 11)

 

* It is time as Christians we get out of our holes and reclaim our ground.

 

> Our prayer ground

> Our praising ground

> Our planting ground

> Our pure ground

THE MEN OF THAT PLACE!

Matthew 14: 34 – 36

 

INTRO:  Jesus and His Disciples have just come through the storm to the other side, of the land of Gennesaret.

 

·         In verse 35 the Bible speaks of the men of that place,” that’s what I want to preach on.

 

  • ·         It’s time for most men of our day to step up, stop being slackers, in our Homes, and Churches

  •  

  • As men we have:

  • Our Priority – (or responsibility as spiritual leaders)

  • Our Purpose – (To tell others and serve the Lord)

  • Our Pattern – (Set the right example) “Our Walk and Worship

  • Let’s take a look at these men and see what was special about them.

 

I.    THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT! V. 35 (Of Jesus)

        a.   Of His Compassion – V. 14

        b.   Of His Provisions – Vs. 18 – 21

        c.   Of His Intersession – V. 23

        d.   Of His Intervention – Vs. 25 – 32

        e.   Of His Identification – V. 33

 

II.   THEIR ACTION!  V. 35

  • Their Readiness – (they sent out)

  • Their Reach – (into all that country, round about)

  • Their Result – (brought unto Him all that were diseased)

  • Those in need

 

III.   THEIR AFFECTION!  V. 36

  • Their Burden – (Besought Him) – “Pray

  • Their Belief – (Faith)

 

III.   THEIR AWESOME SAVIOR!

  • Availability of the Savior – (He Came)

  • Matt. 11: 28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

  • Hebrews 4: 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

  • Romans 10: 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

 

  • Affection of the Savior – (Willingness) – “I Will

  • Of Reception John 6: 37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

  • Of ReturnJohn 14: 3… “I will come again”

  • Of RequestJohn 14: 14… “if ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

  • (He is the willing Savior. “willing to save” – satisfy, and cure your longing soul.)

 

  • Ability of the Savior – (As many as touched were made perfectly whole.) – “He Is Able to:”

  • Save – John 1: 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

  • (Hebrews 7: 25) Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

  • Strengthen Comfort ForgivePeace – (He Cares 1 Pet. 5: 7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

THOUGH I WALK IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLE!

3/31/10 – Wed.

Psalm 138

 

INTRO:  This is a Psalm of David written when he was surrounded by enemies.

 

·         Some would say that it was the time of Absalom’s rebellion.

 

  • Notice three truths here in the first five verses.

  • Speaks of his gladness – Vs. 1-2

  • Speaks of his grace – V. 3

  • Speaks of his glory – Vs. 4-5

 

·         Now look at the last three verses here in our text. Notice verse 7 saysThough I Walk in the Midst of Trouble” (Title)

 

  • Notice three thoughts in way of Introduction from this statement that David makes.

          1.  His Pace – “walk” (Shows his attitude to keep    going)

          2.  His Position – “midst” (center of it)

          3.  His Problems – “trouble” – adversary, adversity, affliction, anguish, distress, tribulation.

 

·         Now let us look at three truths about our thoughtThough I Walk in the Midst of Trouble

 

I.    HIS SOURCE OF HELP! Vs. 6-8

     a.  The Powerless of help – V. 6 (lowly)

     b.  The Person of help – Vs. 6-7 (LORD), V. 7 thou, thine, thy.

 

 

II.   HIS SUPPLY OF HELP! V. 7

a.       He’ll Preserve me – “revive” – keep alive, give life, nourish up, recover, repair.

 

    b.   He’ll Protect me – “Stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies”

 

    c.   He’ll Prevail for me – “save me” – (yaw-shah) to be safe, to free, or succor (aid or relief), rescue, get victory

 

 

III.   HIS SURETY OF HELP! V. 8

          a.  Perfecting of help – (to perform)

          b.  Piety of help – “Mercy” – to piety, or favor.

          c.  Promise of help – “endureth forever”, (forsake not the works of thine own hands.)

 

 

·         Just keep walking Child of God Help is on the Way!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WORDS FOR THE CHRISTIAN!

Matthew 5: 6

 

Intro: Here in Matthew 5 we see Christ's sermon on the mount, or what is also called the beatitudes.

 

*  As we look at His sermon Christ deals with all areas of our life as a Christian.

 

*  But notice in verse 6 what the Lord has to say to us about those that hunger and thirst.

 

I. THE DESCRIPTION OF A CHRISTIAN! "Blessed are they"

   a. They are blessed - Supremely blest, happy.

   b. They are a believer - "they" the saved.

   c. They are a begger - "hunger and thrist"

        > Those that completely depend on Jesus Christ for     everything in life.

 

II. THE DESIRE OF A CHRISTIAN!                                  "hunger and thrist after righteousness"

       > hunger - to crave, be hungered

          Webster's - discomfort caused by the need for food.

 

       > thrist - to thrist for

          Webster's - discomfort caused by a need for drink.

 

   a. From conviction - "discomfort"

   b. From craving - "a desire or want"

   c. For character - "righteousness"

 

III. THE DELIGHT OF A CHRISTIAN! "for they shall be filled"

        > filled - to gorge, feed, fill, satisfy.

 

   a. Is to be fed - "feed"

   b. Is to be filled - "to gorge, fill"

   c. Is to have fullfillment - "satisfy"

 

* How is your "Description" - "Desire" - "Delight"

DOES IT MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?

Lamentations 1: 12

 

INTRO:  Notice here three things in this chapter.

 

·         Which it is sad when we see what has transpired here in this chapter, but it is still true today.

 

Ø  The Wickedness of the people!

 

  • The Whipping of the people!

 

  • The Weeping of the prophet!

 

·         Now notice in our verse 12 that the Prophet Jeremiah can’t believe the unconcern of the people.

 

  • Let us look at this question “Does It Mean Anything To You?

 

I.    DOES YOUR SOUL MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU!

·         Matthew 16: 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

 

  • Condition of your soul – “A Sinner” (Romans 3: 23)

  • Cost of your soul – “He Died for us” (Romans 5: 8)

  • Conversion of your soul – “Salvation”

  • John 3: 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

 

II.   DOES THE SOVEREGN’S WILL MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?

·         Romans 12: 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

 

  • Our Sacrifice – V. 1a

  • Our Service – V. 1b

  • Our Separation – V. 2

 

III.   DOES LOST SINNERS MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?

·         Psalms 142: 4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.

 

  • His Desperation – “I looked”

  • His Disappointment – “Would know me”

  • His Deviation – “No man cared”

 

IV.   DOES SACRIFICIAL PRAISE MEAN ANYTHING TO YOU?

·         Hebrews 13: 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

 

  • Duration of Praise – V. 15a

  • Delivering of Praise – V. 15b

  • Desire of Praise – V. 16 “Well pleased”
